Kathryn Johnston, age 92

Murdered.

(Possibly 88, according to associates of the people who killed her).

Negligent homicide is the minimum that occurred.

I so charge.

Update: Dale Franks writes (in the comments) at Q and O,

The illegal obtaining of a warrant is a felony. Breaking into someone’s home with an illegally obtained warrant is a felony. In the course of committing that felony, an innocent citizen was killed. That makes the charge felony murder. It’s no different that blowing away a convenience store clerk during an armed robbery. If you kill a person during the course of a felony, it becomes a felony murder case.

Couldn’t have said it better. Hat-tip to Libby Spencer.

The word murdered jumped out at me, but who is that?

Click the link, it should explain the back story better than I could.

Thanks for the info whig. This seems like a crazy case as well.

Why did the police take the time to do this? Fake search warrant and telling their informant to lie so they could shoot an elderly lady 6 times?!? There is more to this then an accident.

  5. whig Says:

There are still a lot of unanswered questions, Dave. I don’t assume malice aforethought, but there is the possibility of an attempted cover-up and perjury and a lot of other charges.

In ops like this, when everything goes wrong, our first thoughts are always of “Cover your assets”. Strangely enough, in the South, Atlanta is on par with New York (as far as it being southern to the old country boy crowd) and I do believe that city has a fifty shot episode on a black man at the same time.
No we do not target marijuana users, as 88 per cent of all drug crimes are for possession. No we do not use the brutal stick of the law to enforce racism. And of course, we are here to serve and protect. Who? The government and rich people’s property. It is a perfect system, if the population is unable to connect the dots. Personally, I think the internet is one major dot connecter. Wanna bet that gun sales go up now? Or that more cops get shot in these things? Or that maybe, riots in the streets will get things going? It will only be when good people make a stand that things will change.
I know that cannabists traditionally despise violence as a solution, I merely offer it as a language. It is the language that oppressors speak. It is the only one they understand. It is about to be spoken by the rioters in the street on this case. Or maybe theh next time. Or even in New York. One never knows when the hour arrives, one only knows it will.

Jim… That’s exactly what I’m trying to do, and you’ve put your finger on it. Some people like jigsaw puzzles, and putting the pieces together. I’m not one of them. I like to look at a puzzle of numbered dots, and having no idea what the picture might be at first, putting the lines on the paper and seeing it emerge.

Of course, to do it well you need a really big piece of paper with an awful lot of dots, and a whole bunch of people all chip in to work on different parts while we all connect our own segments to one another’s, and look at the picture together.

Do we not speak a language too? This tonight is my first introduction to some very fine Romulan. It was recommended to me as having a bodily effect which can help with the bone pain I sometimes feel (often, if unmedicated). It was organically grown, and the crystals on it were so white and fine that when I pressed a bit into my pipe, the bud appeared almost pale. I haven’t even finished the first bowl yet, having had a bit of Widow earlier in the evening and not feeling any need to overmedicate.

How’s the picture look from there?

  8. Jim Lunsford Says:

Well, since I have run out of my “medication” for now, things aren’t looking nearly as good as they are for you! lol But this is of my own choosing.
I have found my medicine to be good for creating alternate mind states from which I can look at a problem from many different perspectives. But, it doesn’t work as well on the action. At least for me. So, I am on a self-driven slow “drip” medication for now. I feel action coming on. It’s like the skirmishes of battle before the war. A clear head would serve me well in this part.
Then again, I live in an outcast society. We are a fringe element. What can I say, we’re skydivers. But many have asked me without knowing me truly, “What do I plan to do WHEN the war starts?” This is a thought that is on many peoples minds. It’s quite unnerving when so many people believe it is about to happen.
As for myself, I will fight. And then I will wash the dishes. For such is life. peace bro, Rev Jim

You have to have a little bit of trust in God, Jim. Otherwise it may seem hopeless. This is what faith is about.

  10. Jim Lunsford Says:

Faith is for the weak of heart. I don’t need faith. Only truth lies out in the land beyond hope. It is when you’ve lost both those chains that you will have your redemption. For you will be truth.

Hey what did you expect? I AM a reverend!

    Rev. Jim
    First Cannabist Church

  11. whig Says:

    Are you truth?

    I am Michael.

  12. Jim Lunsford Says:

We are all truth. And all lies. And I am Jim.

  13. whig Says:

Do you prefer comedy or tragedy?

  14. Jim Lunsford Says:

Hey, my favorite movies are a bit of a mix. Boondock Saints, V for Vendetta (my favorite), The Matrix (and sequels), Star Wars Series, and the Lord of the Rings. They go through the full range of emotions and challenges of a life. Life is too full to be eithe one or the other. Just enjoy what is playing at the time. If it’s not your favorite, it will change. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy any situation you find yourself in. For they are all good. And all bad. Just depends upon how you want to look at it.
